On the 11th of September our year, 5 students competed in a thrilling semi-final against St Patrick's primary at Guildford.
Our students provided a compelling argument for the exciting debate of “Reading is more educational than watching television”.
Unfortunately, our fantastic students were unsuccessful in winning the debate however it was a very close match as both teams stated very good points.
Our school community was so proud of their hard work and how much they improved in public speaking. We hope to see them using these skills… but hopefully not against the teachers!

In Science, Year 6 have been learning about natural disasters! To finish their unit, students have been designing systems to help minimise the damage caused by events such as tornadoes, cyclones, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and earthquakes. Check out what they’ve created so far! Next week, they’ll put their ideas to the test—seeing whether their volcano models can divert lava away from communities, whether their earthquake-proof buildings can reduce damage, and how their cyclone alert systems can help people seek shelter before a storm arrives. 💙
