For this year’s Book Week celebrations at Holy Trinity, we had many exciting events that occurred.
Many of our highlights included, the Book Week Performance, “Big Dreams,” engaging many of the students and influencing them to keep persisting in their dreams.
As well as our fantastic Book Week Performance, we had our Book Character Parade. There were many creative costumes, inspired by our favourite books from Diary of the Wimpy Kid to favourite Princess characters.
This year’s theme, “Reading is my Secret Power,” encouraged many students to express themselves through their knowledge of reading. Like the famous Dr. Seuss stated, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

📚✨ Book Fair Parade Fun! ✨📚 Yesterday our school came alive with colour, creativity, and characters! We celebrated our Book Fair Parade with students dressing up as their favourite book characters – and even some amazing original characters they created themselves! 🎭✏️📖 Families also enjoyed visiting our open classrooms, where students took part in engaging activities inspired by the CBCA shortlisted books. 🎶💖 Year 1 Lifting Their Voices in Song 💖🎶 Our Year 1 students sang a beautiful Andrew Chinn song about God being in our hearts, in our minds, and watching over us from above. The song reminded us that God is always with us — in the way we think, feel, and live — and linked beautifully to the meaning behind making the Sign of the Cross. ✝️ What a joyful way to share our faith through music! 🎵🙏💛

📚✨ Book Week is just around the corner! ✨📚 We’re so excited to celebrate Book Week next Wednesday 13th August with our amazing Holy Trinity community! 🎭 Dress-Up Parade at 9:00 AM Students can come dressed as their own ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ character – whether it’s a brave explorer, a magical creature, or a hero from their imagination! 👨👩👧 Parents and carers are warmly invited to stay after the parade and join in on some fun Book Week classroom activities based on the 2025 Shortlisted Books. 📖 And don’t forget – the Scholastic Book Fair opens Thursday 14th August – Tuesday 19th August! ✨🙏 Feast of Saint Mary MacKillop 🙏✨ We celebrated the Feast of Saint Mary MacKillop with a beautiful Mass led by one of our new parish priests, Father Joseph. It was a special time to come together as a school community, honour Australia’s first saint, and reflect on her message to “never see a need without doing something about it.” 💛✝️ We are blessed to share this occasion with our parish family and look forward to many more celebrations with Father Joseph.

🚌🐾 Stage 2 Zoo Adventure! 🐾🚌 Our Year 3 and Year 4 students had an amazing day at Blacktown Zoo, linking their visit to this term’s Science units. 🐒 Year 3 took part in a hands‑on Classification of Living Things workshop, exploring the incredible diversity of animals and how scientists group them. 🌱 Year 4 participated in a Food and Fibre workshop with a special Aboriginal focus, discovering how Aboriginal peoples have traditionally used different plants and animal fibres to create food, clothing, tools, and shelter. Both groups also enjoyed exploring the zoo and getting up close to some furry, feathery, and scaly friends 🦘🦉🐍 – an unforgettable way to bring Science and culture to life!

📚✨ Get Ready to Book an Adventure! ✨📚 Book Week is almost here, and we can’t wait to celebrate with our amazing Holy Trinity community! 🎉 🗓 WEDNESDAY 13TH AUGUST 👗 9:00 AM – Dress Up Character Parade Our whole school will come together for a magical ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ dress-up parade! Students are invited to come dressed as a character from their very own adventure story. Think explorers, time travellers, superheroes, and more! 🎨 After the parade, families are warmly invited to visit classrooms and join in on Book Week activities based on the 2025 Shortlisted Books. It's a wonderful chance to share in the joy of reading and creativity! 📚 Scholastic Book Fair – THURSDAY 14TH to TUESDAY 19TH AUGUST The Book Fair will be open for browsing and buying! Students will create a wishlist on Thursday and bring it home. Purchases can be made via the online payment system — just send the receipt number back to school so we can send the books home! 🎤 Voice of Youth Finals at Holy Trinity! 🎤 This week, 12 of our incredible students took to the stage for our Voice of Youth school finals — a public speaking competition that gives students the chance to speak passionately about topics that matter most to them. From thought-provoking issues to heartfelt reflections, each student spoke with confidence, courage, and conviction. 🌟 A huge congratulations to our three finalists and our reserve who will represent Holy Trinity in the next stage of the competition. We are so proud of all our students for their outstanding effort and inspiring speeches!
