The 2017 Formation Goal for 2017 has been for students to develop their understanding of Scripture through service to others in the school and wider community.
As a school we felt that it was important to live the Gospels through acts of service to people in our school and the world. Each class, along with their teachers, planned what their Mission initiative would be and students have really run with the idea and having been making a big difference to the community.
As a whole school, Stage 3 led the way by supporting the Jesuit Refugee Centre in Parramatta.
Part of their service was to provide a food bank for families in need. Every family contributed to this appeal and many baskets of food were collected. We were then visited by employees and a Refugee from the centre to explain to the students how much they appreciated our help.
Years 2 and 5 had a cake stall at different times.
Year 1 had a crazy sock day where students brought a gold coin to school.
Kindergarten collected one hundred coins on their ‘100th day of school’ and conducted a Kinder Café over several mornings.
Years 3 and 4 decided to perform another important act of service by spending the morning helping children from the Pre-school to learn. The staff donated gift cards for the St Vincent de Paul Christmas appeal.
Finally, Year 6 worked at home and school to make small Christmas gifts and cakes for students to buy.
As part of the overall planning the we chose a theme ‘I am the vine, you are the branches’ John 15:5 as a way of recording the names of all students, and their cultural background.
Each child also decided on a colour of the rainbow that described who they were.
- Yellow is the colour of happiness and cheerfulness
- Orange is the colour of confidence and being active
- Red is the colour of courage and enthusiasm
- Green is the colour of common sense and encouragement
- Blue is the colour of trust and peace
- Purple is the colour of understanding and kindness
- Indigo is the colour of gentleness and strength.
Why do this?
If we are true followers of Jesus, then it is essential that we are aware of our responsibility to serve others and living this from a young age will continue to grow throughout their lives.

✏️✂️ Kindergarten Update 💙 Our Kindergarten students have been practising their tracing and cutting this week 💙 They are learning to carefully trace over lines and shapes and to use scissors safely to cut along lines. These activities help strengthen their little hands and improve coordination, which supports their writing and other classroom tasks. We are so proud of the effort they are putting in and how much their confidence is growing each day 💙

During this Lenten season, our school community is proud to support Project Compassion 💙 Each year, Caritas Australia invites us to take part in Project Compassion, encouraging us to “Live Simply” so that others may simply live. Through prayer, fundraising and acts of kindness, we stand in solidarity with vulnerable communities around the world. Throughout Lent, students will be learning about how their small actions can make a big difference. We encourage families to support Project Compassion by donating via the QR code and by having conversations about how we can help others in need. Together, we can make a meaningful impact this Lent 💙

Today we marked Ash Wednesday with a special Mass celebrated alongside Delany College. Together, we gathered in prayer to begin the season of Lent — a time of reflection, renewal and preparing our hearts for Easter. Receiving the ashes reminded us of the call to live with humility, kindness and compassion as we journey through Lent together. Happy Shrove Tuesday! 🥞 Today our students enjoyed a special treat as they received pancakes to mark this traditional day in the Church calendar. Shrove Tuesday is a time to come together, share joy and prepare our hearts for the season of Lent. On Tuesday, we were blessed to come together as a wider faith community for our Opening School Mass, celebrated alongside Delany College. It was a beautiful opportunity to begin the year in prayer, reflection and unity, as we placed our hopes, intentions and learning journeys into God’s hands. During the Mass, we also proudly presented our student leaders with their badges, acknowledging their commitment to lead with responsibility, service and faith throughout the year. We are grateful for the chance to gather, share in worship and strengthen the connection between our schools as we look ahead to the year to come. 💙 Throwback to our Christmas Concert & Talent Show! 💙 As we look back on the end of last year at Holy Trinity Primary School, we’re reminded of the joy and meaning of our Christmas Concert and Talent Show. Our students lit up the stage with beautiful singing, joyful dancing and expressive acting, sharing their many talents with confidence and pride. 💙 Throwback to our Colour Fun Run! 💙 What a fantastic way to wrap up last year at Holy Trinity Primary School! Our Colour Fun Run was bursting with colour, laughter and energy as students ran, walked and cheered their way around the course. It was a joyful celebration of community, fun and teamwork, and a memory we’ll be smiling about for a long time. We loved seeing everyone covered head to toe in colour — what a brilliant end to an amazing year!
